Delta 8 FAQ

Delta 8 was a relatively unknown form of THC – until now. If you haven’t heard of it yet, you’re not alone. Learn all about Delta 8, and if you still have questions, keep reading for our Delta 8 FAQ. Find out more about this highly intriguing form of THC, one that comes without the paranoia traditionally associated with THC’s psychoactive effects.

Where is Delta 8 available?

Delta 8 is fairly readily available wherever you purchase cannabis or CBD in the 15 states plus Washington DC that have legalized medical and recreational marijuana. If you’re not located in one of those areas, it might be more difficult to find Delta 8-infused products – until now.

At Reform Wellness, our Delta 8 gummies are 100% legal and the first and currently only THC product backed with a payment processor that takes all major credit cards and is operated by a U.S. bank.

What is Delta 8?

Delta 8 is a type of THC that naturally occurs in the cannabis plant. THC is an acronym for tetrahydrocannabinol, the chemical compound in marijuana that is known for its psychoactive effects. When you think of getting “high,” you’re thinking of Delta 9 THC. Delta 8 is essentially a combination of CBD (or cannabidiol, the non-psychoactive compound that was legalized in 2018) and Delta 9 THC.

Does Delta 8 make you high?

Not in the traditional sense, as Delta 8 THC is known to provide a much more functional, active experience than Delta 9 THC. While the effects naturally vary from person to person, as they can for any medicine or substance, the most common experience of Delta 8 is a pleasant, clear-headed euphoria. It can be energizing at lower doses, soporific at higher doses, and is generally not overwhelming or intoxicating.

Is Delta 8 legal?

Yes! H.R. 2: The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the Farm Bill of 2018, legalized the use of non-THC cannabinoids from the hemp plant grown according to the specifications laid out by the legislation.

Hemp is defined as cannabis and and cannabis derivatives with extremely low (no more than 0.3%) amounts of Delta 9 THC. The Farm Bill declassified hemp from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act, allowing it to play a larger role in the agricultural industry.

Delta 8 THC is legal by federal standards, though there are some states which have their own hemp laws that do not mirror the Farm Bill. That’s why our Delta 8 gummies are unique; they are the first THC product that can be safely purchased online, from any state, backed with a payment processor that accepts all major credit cards.

Does Delta 8 have THC in it?

Delta 8 is a form of THC, so yes. But not all THC is created equally!

How is Delta 8 different from Delta 9?

The major difference is that Delta 8 does not cause paranoia or racing thoughts. It’s not nearly as mentally stimulating or potent as Delta 9. An easy way to remember the difference is that Delta 9 is more head with less body and Delta 8 is less head with more body.

What form does Delta 8 come in?

Delta 8 comes in every type of cannabis product, from gummies like our Reform Wellness line, to vapes, tinctures, concentrates, oils, and other types of edibles. (Though you’ll have to look elsewhere if you’re looking for anything other than gummies!)

Is Delta 8 safe?

Yes! The main safety concern is that the compound is properly extracted or converted using the strictest procedures and guidelines. You cannot overdose on Delta 8, although as with any other edible, we recommend starting small and discovering the best dose for your particular needs.

As we’ve mentioned, one of the major differences between Delta 8 and Delta 9 is that Delta 8 does not cause paranoia or overstimulated thoughts, resulting in an experience that feels safer overall. However, don’t mess with Delta 8 if you have a drug test to pass. The chemical structure of Delta 8 is simply too similar to Delta 9 and can trigger a positive test.
